OAC was established in 2012 as an Oman-based joint venture partnership between Muscat Overseas Group and Abagold Limited of South Africa. OAC operates a land-based commercial aquaculture facility to cultivate Omani abalone.

Through sustainable aquaculture practices and land-based breeding and cultivation of these this much in-demand seafood delicacy, OAC aims to produce high-quality Omani abalone for local and global markets while minimizing the impact on populations in the natural habitat.
